The Villa is physically connected by a corridor to Stillwater Health Care, one of Bangor's finest rehabilitation and skilled nursing care centers.  Jointly owned by an affiliate of Eastern Maine Medical Center and First Atlantic Corporation, Stillwater Health Care has a long-standing reputation for providing quality health care in a gracious, friendly atmosphere.  Should you ever need short-term rehabilitation or long-term nursing care, Villa tenants have a priority admission status at Stillwater Health Care.

Help is just a few steps away in an emergency

Emergency Medical Services

For your peace of mind, Stillwater Health Care's nursing personnel monitor the Villa's 24 hour-a-day emergency medical call system.  A push of a button instantly alerts these professionals that you need emergency medical assistance.  Each Villa apartment is equipped with three nurse call buttons.  Two call buttons are wall mounted, one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom.  A third portable button can be carried with you and used in your apartment as well as throughout the building.

Nutritious Meals

One of your most important choices at Park East Villa has to do with meals.  Unlike many retirement apartment complexes, the Villa does not require you to go to a central dining room to eat meals that are already included in your monthly fee, whether you want them or not.  At the Villa, you may choose to prepare your own meals, or order meals from Stillwater Health Care for a fee and have them delivered right to your kitchen table.  For those who wish to prepare their own meals, we provide weekly grocery shopping transportation.

Villa tenants enjoy ongoing medical services from the home health agency of their choice.  Tenants with physician ordered "skilled needs" obtain services through Medicare certified agencies, which provide licensed RN's, therapists and certified home health aides on a scheduled basis.

Housekeeping

One-half hour weekly housekeeping services are provided for you, including such chores as dusting, vacuuming and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.  These arrangements can be tailored to your needs and frequency requirements.  Additional time is available, if needed, for a small fee.

Some of the Villa apartments are equipped with washer/dryer hookups for your stackable units.  There is also a laundry center for tenant use on the second floor, accessible by elevator.  You will find it easy to transport laundry to the center in lightweight carts provided at the Villa.  Laundry services may also be provided by the Villa Housekeeping staff for a modest fee.

The well-regarded Bangor Public Library delivers books to Villa tenants on a regular basis.  Tenants choose from a wide assortment of regular and large print books, and have them delivered right to their door!

Weekly grocery shopping trips provide the opportunity for food shopping as well as banking and getting photocopies and stamps.  This weekly outing is much enjoyed by Villa tenants and provides a safe, convenient way to dispense with errands.  Transportation is provided courtesy of Stillwater Health Care, and Villa staff escort the group.
